Happy B’Day S-Man
So, I was finally able to save the day. For me. By end of day yesterday, I had nothing special in my mind to surprise S-Man. Except that puppy-ears card. He had already seen it, but not the message I wrote on it. I had recorded a silly version of a hindi Happy B’Day song, already on his phone. But that was it. I wasn’t satisfied. I started looking on web for some ideas, but nothing caught my eye. And then, when I had lost all hope and was content with another bitstrip cartoon for him, I saw this cute picture. Hmm…I can try this. Also, I was in my poem writing mode and had a half-written poem for him.
So, S-Man’s birthday started in India around 2 our time here, I wasn’t the first to wish him. I was in a meeting and his mom called. Funny thing, only when his mom called, did he realise his b’day had already begun. Anyways, I wished S-Man and asked him to listen to that funny recording but stupid guy had left ear phones at home. It turned out good though because we listened to it while returning from work and laughed a lot I might have missed his reaction if he had already heard it. So, that’s how we begun the celebration.
I was feeling tired and so was S-man as we slept really late Sunday night. Good for me, S-Man decided to take a small nap. In that one hour, I finished my card (after early failed attempts), finished my poem, decorated the card and by the time I woke S-Man up, my surprise package for his b’day was ready. We went for a long walk with Coco. Coco wore a neck tag saying ‘Happy B’Day woof!! woof!!’ She tore it after a while though. I cooked ‘choole-bhature’ for him and with side of chopped onions and pickle, they were no less than ‘Haldirams’. We watched ‘Aashiqui2′ and made fun of it.
As 12 struck, I kissed my man Happy B’Day and gave him the puppy ear card. He loved it. And thought that was end of my surprise. Then we went to bed but he wasn’t sleepy, so he decided to watch ‘Top Gear’ by my side. As he opened his laptop another surprise was waiting for him. My another card with the poem. He was so surprised. ‘When did you do it?’ He loved it. He said ‘Tu kitna effort lagati hai to make my b’day special’ and I replied ‘Its not for you. Its for me. I don’t want to miss any chance to tell you how much I love you.’ S-Man loved my poem and loved the card. I think it came out childish but he thinks its cute. Good for me
Happy B’Day sweetie. I love you for many reasons but mostly because you bring out the best in me.
